Class Descriptions
Vinyasa Flow Yoga
Vinyasa Yoga is a flowing style of yoga in which the yoga postures are linked together using the breath (vinyasa). The dynamic sequence of postures helps to build strength, endurance, balance and focus while the flowing style facilitates detoxification and increases flexibility. This yoga practice is wonderful on its own or as a means of cross-training for other sports/activities.
Introduction to Yoga
This class is intended to demystify the ancient practice of yoga by exploring some of its principles and philosophies. Posture, breath and relaxation will be the focus of the class. Improvements in flexibility, strength and balance are some of the tangible benefits that can be expected from participation in a regular yoga practice.
Goddess Yoga
This class is intended for women who are interested in exploring their relationship with and expanding their knowledge of the Divine Feminine. Through the practice of yoga, we will explore the Goddess in all her aspects, investigate the influence of nature’s cycles on us and re-discover our own innate wisdom and healing capability. Level of intensity is not an appropriate concept for this class. Women of all levels of ability, from all stages of life, are welcome and encouraged to participate.
Traditional Yoga
This class is intended for those who have some experience with Yoga (of any style) and are wanting to delve deeper into the more subtle aspects of the practice. Asana, pranayama, mantra, meditation and discussions on yogic philosophy will be included in each class. This integral approach to yoga will give students access to more of the diverse teachings and techniques that the yoga system has to offer.
